Experience
1988-1997 & 1999-2008:
18 years experience at a manufacturer of industrial textiles in Barrie Ontario, primarily used in environmental applications for the filtration of air or liquid. Positions held included Shift Supervisor, Quality Systems Manager, Business Manager– Liquid Filtration and International Sales Manager for USA & International Accounts in our Process Engineered division.
1997-1999:
Held position of Shift Supervisor for a major Canadian manufacturer of Kayaks in Abbotsford British Columbia.
Qualifications & Skills
Computer and tech savvy, I have abilities in a broad range of computer applications including but not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, Publisher, Visio, Access, PowerPoint, Linux Operating System, Gimp Photo and Imaging, OpenOffice Suite, Inkscape, Joomla!, Virtuemart, GNU Cash, Muvee AutoProducer, ACT & AutoCAD.
Have traveled, primarily on business extensively throughout Canada, United States, Europe, Russia, South America and Asia. Through this travel I have gained a lot of experience and insight into our world and how it works.
Quality Systems- Have worked extensively with the ISO 9000 series quality system. Established the system, manuals and documentation for initial ISO conformance audit of my company in 1996. Maintained the system through 2000 when I successfully re-wrote and re-tooled the system to conform to the revised ISO 9001:2000 standard. Continued to manage this quality system until 2005 when I was promoted to a new position in my company. Have had various training through QMI in this capacity.
Radiation Safety Officer training in 2002 through the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada.
Workplace Health & Safety Certified Member training in 1996 and then Sector specific upgrade training in 2000. Management chair of Health and Safety Committee for 8 years.
Canadian Professional Sales Association training: Professional Selling.
Community Involvement Meaford & District Chamber of Commerce - Board of Directors, Membership Portfolio (Current) Meaford Economic Development Strategy (MEDS) - Green Business Task Force Committee Member. Meaford Municipal Farmers' Market Association - Fund Raising Committee Member & 2009 Market Manager. Culture Core - Member. Community Group with focus on promotion of broad scope culture in Meaford. From the age of 16 I have volunteered on numerous federal, provincial and municipal election campaigns and ran as a candidate for City Alderman in Barrie in 1994.
Member of the Sierra Club of Canada.
Currently volunteer my time and services to our children’s school as well as various community activities.

I enjoy reading, writing fiction, writing non-fiction, gardening and spending time with my partner and our four children.
